Verneinung und Fragen

not nach be – und be an den Anfang.

Verneinung

not gehört hinter be

Verneinen ist im Passiv leicht, weil schon ein Hilfsverb da ist: Häng not an die Form von be. Kurzformen wie isn’t, aren’t, wasn’t, weren’t sind genauso richtig.

AussageVerneinung
The room is cleaned. The room is not cleaned. / The room isn’t cleaned.
The tickets are sold online. The tickets aren’t sold online.
The window was broken. The window wasn’t broken.
The photos were taken. The photos weren’t taken.

Lunch isn’t served after two.Nach zwei wird kein Mittagessen mehr serviert.

The letters weren’t written by hand.Die Briefe wurden nicht mit der Hand geschrieben.

Fragen

be an den Anfang – do verschwindet

Fragen bildest du wie bei jedem Satz mit be: Zieh die Form von be an den Satzanfang. Das ist der große Unterschied zum Aktiv: Dort brauchst du do, does, did – im Passiv verschwinden diese Wörter komplett.

Mit Fragewort

Das Fragewort kommt ganz nach vorn, dann die Form von be: When was the bridge built? – Where are these phones made? – Who was the email written by? (Bei who rutscht das by ans Satzende.)
